this is a good tutorial on how to use HDR software with a single jpg. well done.

however, such an image would not be HDR, it would be a post-processed LDR image. HDR compresses high dynamic range images into an image viewed on a computer monitor or in a print. JPG files are already LDR, so a single LDR JPG image cannot be processed into an HDR image. it has nowhere near the dynamic range of even a single RAW file.

sorry if i came across all preachy. i do have a bee in my bonnet about single images being called HDR, but it is a good tutorial.

not a bad tutorial : ) good job but as you said you won't get the same effect as an actuall hdr image. But it's a damn fine result : )
